Versions & settings
Choose the right version
Vanilla Experience
The classic vanilla textures paired with Dynamic Details' carefully crafted lighting, water and atmosphere. The most performance-friendly option.
64x Resolution
The iconic Dynamic Details look with 64×64 pixel textures — a perfect balance between detail and performance.
128x Resolution
Maximum detail and visual fidelity. The ultimate Dynamic Details experience.
! Not sure which to pick? Start with 64x — for most players it offers the best overall balance between looks and performance.
Enable Vibrant Visuals
Dynamic Details is built for Vibrant Visuals — without it, the pack won't work correctly. Here's how to enable it:
- Go to Settings → Video
- Under Graphics Mode, select Vibrant Visuals
Adjust gamma
For the best experience, we recommend setting your gamma to around 100% (the default). Here's how to adjust it:
- Go to Settings → Video
- Click "Vibrant Visuals Options" to reveal the Adjust Gamma button
- Move the slider to 100%, or click "Reset to Default"
Only want the lighting without the textures?
If you want only Dynamic Details' custom lighting, atmosphere, and water — without the custom textures — that's exactly what the Vanilla Experience subpack is for:
- Follow the Global or Local Setup instructions
- When choosing your subpack, select "Vanilla Experience"
Performance & common fixes
Performance optimisation
If your device supports Vibrant Visuals, Dynamic Details can run perfectly fine. For the best balance between visuals and performance, we recommend using 64x.
- Switch to Vanilla Experience or 64x
- Lower your render distance
- Close background apps
- Restart Minecraft completely
Common issues & fixes
Pack not working
Make sure Vibrant Visuals is enabled. Without it, Dynamic Details cannot function.
Textures not loading correctly
Make sure Dynamic Details is placed above other packs in your resource pack list. If needed, restart Minecraft.
Water looks transparent
This is a known Minecraft Vibrant Visuals bug. Reload your world — that usually fixes it instantly.
Game looks too dark / bright
Go to Settings → Video → Vibrant Visuals Options → Adjust Gamma. We recommend around 100%.
Looks different from screenshots
This can happen because of time of day, weather, gamma settings, and camera angle. Your world may look slightly different depending on conditions.
Need to use it on a Realm?
Yes — as long as your Realm allows resource packs and all players have Vibrant Visuals compatible devices.
Compatibility
Dynamic Details requires a device that supports Vibrant Visuals.
Unfortunately, Dynamic Details isn't available on Nintendo Switch right now because the platform currently doesn't support Vibrant Visuals.
